Since the beginning of this year, sales of electric vehicles have exceeded expectations, and the growth of drive motors has accelerated. Compared with motors for general industrial applications, electric vehicle drive motor has higher performance requirements, and permanent magnet synchronous motors account for 99% market share because of outstanding performance.
Permanent magnet synchronous motor which generates a synchronous rotating magnetic field by permanent magnet excitation, thereby generating electric current. It has high efficiency, high power density, and high reliability. It also uses electronic power devices as a commutation device, which is flexible in driving and has strong controllability.
In June 2021, the inventory ratio of Chinese praseodymium and neodymium mixed metal was 17.04%, compared with 36.49% in the same period in 2020. From January to June 2021, the average inventory ratio of Chinese praseodymium and neodymium mixed metal was 19.43%, compared with 44.47% in the same period in 2020. The low-level operation of inventory further proves that the supply of permanent magnet materials is in short.
