Strong Neodymium Magnet Discs & Cylinders

Cylinder neodymium(also known as "NdFeb", "NIB" or "Neo")  magnets are the most powerful rare-earth magnets available today. Available in cylinder neodymium magnets shapes, Neodymium magnets have magnetic properties that far exceed all other permanent magnet materials. They are high in magnetic strength, moderately priced and able to perform well in ambient temperatures. As a result, they are the most widely-used Rare-Earth magnets for industrial, technical, commercial and consumer applications.

cylinder neodymium magnets in Premium Grades & Sizes

Magnet Shop offers a large inventory of licensed neodymium magnets available for online purchase at bulk discounted prices. From micro-sized cylinder neodymium magnets measuring 0.1” in diameter to large cylinder magnets that hold up to 68 lbs. Premium grades range from N30 to N52 which is the highest grade available in today’s market.

We carry a large inventory of neodymium disc & cylinder magnets, not all of which are shown on this website. Contact us today or send us a special request and let us know what you are looking for.

cylinder neodymium magnets Features:
Neodymium (chemical symbol Nd) is element 60 on the periodic table. It is a rare earth metal and forms one of the Lanthanides series. When added to Iron (Fe) and Boron (B) (chemical formula Nd14Fe21B) the resultant magnets are the strongest magnets currently available. Neodymium magnets are sometimes known as Neo, Neod or NIB magnets.
Neodymium magnets are usually coated Nickel-Copper-Nickel plating to prevent the iron from rusting.
Neodymium magnets are made of brittle material. These magnets are not as strong as steel.  They are more like a brittle ceramic.  If you let two magnets slam together, they can crack and break. This is true for magnets large and small.

cylinder neodymium magnets Characteristics

cylinder neodymium magnets Approximate Pull Information

The approximate pull info listed is for reference only. These values are calculated under the assumption that the magnet will be attached to a flat, ground 1/2" thick mild steel plate. Coatings, rust, rough surfaces, and certain environmental conditions can significantly reduce the pull force. Please be sure to test the actual pull in your actual application. For critical applications, it is suggested that the pull be de-rated by a factor of 2 or more, depending on the severity of a potential failure. top

Manufacturing Methods for cylinder neodymium magnets

Our cylinder neodymium magnets are sintered for optimal magnetic strength and axially magnetized (the magnetism direction is along the axis of the magnet from the north to the south poles). Standard finishing options include uncoated, nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) and gold (Ni-Cu-Ni-Au) plated coatings. top

Standard Measurement Tolerances for NdFeB Magnets

Standard tolerances are +/- 0.005” on both diameter and thickness dimensions. top
